Along the way, you’ll stop at Barumini, to visit the extraordinary Nuragic complex of Su Nuraxi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the island’s most important archaeological treasures. Set amid a vast plateau, Su Nuraxi stands as a powerful symbol of Sardinia’s ancient past. Dating back to the Bronze Age, this impressive fortress-like structure, built entirely of massive basalt stones, once served as the centre of a thriving Nuragic settlement. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll explore its labyrinth of towers, passageways, and courtyards, learning about the daily life, engineering skills, and spiritual beliefs of this mysterious civilization that flourished more than three thousand years ago. From the top of the main tower, the view stretches across the fertile Marmilla hills.
