Travel to Lecce, the crown jewel of Salento, to meet your private guide for a refined immersion into this Baroque masterpiece. Your expert guide will lead you through winding lanes and secluded courtyards, revealing intricate sculptural details, ornate balconies, and the stories that make every corner unique. The narrative weaves together historical anecdotes and artistic curiosities, tracing the city's evolution from Roman times to the signature "Lecce Baroque" style. Beyond the grandeur of the Basilica di Santa Croce and Piazza del Duomo, you will discover the intimacy of hidden spots and small artisan workshops that pulse with the city’s contemporary life. Embark on a shared boat excursion to discover the many caves and inlets that characterize the Salento coastline. During the tour, you will admire both the eastern side, overlooking the Adriatic Sea, and the western side, facing the Ionian Sea, with breathtaking views and spectacular caves.

Among the main points of interest are: Punta Ristola, Devil’s Cave (Grotta del Diavolo), Mesciu Gianni Cave, River Cave (Grotta del Fiume), Three Doors Cave (Grotta delle Tre Porte), Giants’ Cave (Grotta dei Giganti), Nativity Cave (Grotta del Presepe), Lovers’ Cave (Grotta degli Innamorati), Dragon Cave (Grotta del Drago), Punta Meliso, the Santa Maria di Leuca Lighthouse, Terradico Cave, Seagulls’ Cave (Grotta dei Gabbiani), Verdusella Cave, the Blowhole or Spray Cave (Grotta del Soffio or Spruzzo), Vora Cave and Mannute Cave.

During the excursion, two swimming stops are scheduled in the crystal-clear waters of the Salento sea, one on each side of the coast, making the experience even more memorable. Possible swimming locations include: Punta Meliso, Blowhole/Spray Cave, Vora Cave, Mannute Cave, Punta Ristola, River Cave, Three Doors Cave, Lovers’ Cave and Dragon Cave.

The excursion lasts approximately 3 hours. In case of adverse sea and weather conditions, the itinerary may be modified to ensure safety on board. In the event of poor weather or sea conditions, the excursion may be cancelled and refunded.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to further explore the region. On the way back to your accommodation we suggest to stop at the lovely village of Castro Marina

Following breakfast, we suggest visiting nearby Otranto for a self-guided exploration of this enchanting Adriatic port. Wander through picturesque alleys and panoramic viewpoints, admiring the ancient walls, the Cathedral with its world-famous floor mosaic, and the medieval towers overlooking the harbor.

In the afternoon, return to the retreat for a private tour of the evocative "Mulino a Vento" underground oil mill. This rare site tells the story of Puglia's flourishing rural economy, where olive pressing was once powered by both animal traction and the force of the wind (hence the name Mulino a Vento).

The tour immerses you in an authentic subterranean environment of ancient architecture and original tools. The experience concludes with a tasting of two premium local Extra Virgin Olive Oils, sampled both pure and paired with traditional Apulian bread made from Senatore Cappelli durum wheat, highlighting the aromatic notes and robust character of Salentine oil.
