Day 3: The Sea Caves of Salento
Embark on a shared boat excursion to discover the many caves and inlets that characterize the Salento coastline. During the tour, you will admire both the eastern side, overlooking the Adriatic Sea, and the western side, facing the Ionian Sea, with breathtaking views and spectacular caves.
Among the main points of interest are: Punta Ristola, Devil’s Cave (Grotta del Diavolo), Mesciu Gianni Cave, River Cave (Grotta del Fiume), Three Doors Cave (Grotta delle Tre Porte), Giants’ Cave (Grotta dei Giganti), Nativity Cave (Grotta del Presepe), Lovers’ Cave (Grotta degli Innamorati), Dragon Cave (Grotta del Drago), Punta Meliso, the Santa Maria di Leuca Lighthouse, Terradico Cave, Seagulls’ Cave (Grotta dei Gabbiani), Verdusella Cave, the Blowhole or Spray Cave (Grotta del Soffio or Spruzzo), Vora Cave and Mannute Cave.
During the excursion, two swimming stops are scheduled in the crystal-clear waters of the Salento sea, one on each side of the coast, making the experience even more memorable. Possible swimming locations include: Punta Meliso, Blowhole/Spray Cave, Vora Cave, Mannute Cave, Punta Ristola, River Cave, Three Doors Cave, Lovers’ Cave and Dragon Cave.
The excursion lasts approximately 3 hours. In case of adverse sea and weather conditions, the itinerary may be modified to ensure safety on board. In the event of poor weather or sea conditions, the excursion may be cancelled and refunded.
